Wheel-thrown and intricately carved, the piece features a large central eye motif surrounded by rippling concentric lines, giving the surface the feeling of radiating perception or expanding consciousness. Additional relief carvings wrap the vessel with cryptic, textural markings, including the phrase “I CONTAIN MULTITUDES” rendered in the artist’s handwriting (with a nod to Walt Whitman).
